I finally got "some of the work" done on the bike - the S&S Teardrop Air Cleaner and the V&H Bigshots Staggered Exhaust put on:
I cannot believe the difference these two changes have made. V&H claim that the pipes would add 10 HP or something and improve performance, but my bike feels a lot different and does appear to have more get up and go!
Of course that extra get and go could also be due to the exhaust no longer leaking where one of the studs holding the old exhaust on had broken and was leaking badly. Don't really care to be honest, the bike runs AND sounds a lot better now. One lot down, one to go

Good job. Now don't scratch it all up when you remove it all for the upgrades to come. LOL.
More air in/out means it could be running a tad lean as well. Might need to upgrade the jetting in the carb a bit.
Griz,
Yeah I knew I'd have to remove the exhaust for the cam work - but my wife wanted stuff off of the porch and this gave her the appearance that things were happening
The Carb is going to be rebuilt when the Cam and stuff goes in so yeah, and you might be right about it running a bit on the lean side at the moment, but the other stuff is getting done in a little under 2 weeks so I can live how it is at the moment for that long
