Neutral light off/flicker?
The neutral light stopped coming on in neutral, for a couple of days , and now seems to be back on ( in neutral) what , where should I check or look for?
Thanks
Thanks, that's what I'll do.
It does act like a poor connection.
Top back side of the trans cover, you going to see this,
With this the connector on top of it,

Start by checking the connector, to make sure it's good to the wire and not a problem there.
With it off, pull the switch, and body connected to ground, to see if the switch is working next by pressing the ball in, and letting it snap back out.
Note to check the connector to wire, just ground it out to the case as well.
If switch and wire is good, keep in mind that what is allowing the switch to work, is the end ball rides in a groove in the shifter drum, and its the detent in the slot that activates the switch. So the washer you see in the the first link, is used to space the sensor off the trans cover the correct distances to make the switch work. If nylon washer in play, and it sensor are over tightened (or someone replace it with one too thick), has the sensor not located off the cover against. the drum slot the correct distance, and will cause problems (hence may just be a $.10 nylon washer that may need to be replace, or the sensor just needs a good contact cleaner douching to clean it up so it works correctly again).
Worst case, may have to pull the shifter cover to make sure that the drum bolts are still tight.drum detent not a problem, and why the drum is not activating the switch correctly.
