Thats a good point because the stator is behind the inner primary. I know it changed in 89 for the flst and Im assuming its the same on the fxst.

G'day Corpus.
Mine is all good now. I'm pretty sure it was the jackshaft seal but may have been both seals from the amount it leaked (1.1Lt in 280Km).
My charging system is working fine so if it aint broke don't fix it!.
I know that with a 34 year old bike I'll be back in there sooner or later.
