I've just been looking at a possible center stand for my new-to-me 1986 Electra Glide Ultra Classic. I had one on one of my old shovelheads and it was a useful thing
There seem to be three options
1) E-Glide Goodies, by Rivco. Advertised as fitting 1989 to current. Promo video on website shows bike being placed on stand from side. Seems somewhat higher than EZ UP unit - rear wheel JUST off ground, minimal weight on front wheel. No UK distributor.
2) EZ UP stand. Advertised as fitting 1999-on. Makers state "their records don't go past 1999". UK distributor, which is important at current exchange rates!
3) front mounted OEM stand. No aftermarket equivalent
Does anyone have particular experience of any of these stands, on 1996 bike?
My FLHTP came to me with a "display stand"
Seems OEM, as the quality is first-rate.
Prior owner was taller than me, I have trouble reaching it, that far forward with police seat and my height.
Maybe I need a technique, seems it is deployed while sitting, not standing alongside, like an old Brit bike.
I'm thinking "riding off" is how most retract it, I'm leery of dropping the bike.
I use the Center Stand Part Number:CS-01 on my 2007 FLHTPI. I also raise and lower from my seat. As you can see, I have a police seat which rides higher than most. I seem to have no problem raising and riding off from my seat. My new left knee didn't seem to offer much difficulty. The Heritage Softail was harder then the Electra Glide.
A quick check on their website shows nothing available for your model/year.

I'm also not tall, so although I like the "display stand" I doubt it would serve; and finding items like that in UK is a long search at best.
I prefer the EZ UP, partly because it has a UK distributor. What I was really after was someone to confirm that the lower frame rails on the older bike were the same, so the EZ UP would fit.
I can order the Rivco unit from US, that is described as fitting older bikes and the fitting looks somewhat different
I had a center stand on my shovel. Hated it. No ground clearance what so ever. Whenever I tried to turn or lean into a curve, it was dragging. I took it off and will never have another.
