I've replaced the seal and spacer on two of my TCs, I believe it is similar, especially on my 01. I don't have enough miles to say for sure. I had to go with eastern performance for the space on my 01,because harley no longer makes them. I have heard of flipping around, I saved them, in case someday it is needed,
I don't know about flipping one on an Evo. They have a lip on one end and I don't think reverse install would be a good idea but never tried it, so can't swear to anything. They only used that particular part number '97-'98 and the very few 2000 Evos they built. The seal is the same on all the Evos and it's been too long - can't remember if the length is different from the '70 thru '96 engines (24002-70) but the lip is a lot thicker on the earlier ones.

Yes, but it WILL eventually drain the primary and cause all kinds of problems...

I am talking about the metal spacer, not the seal. I have heard of flipping if there is a groove, so the seal than rides in a new spot. If I had no way to get a spacer I would.
I woiuld beasure fluid in all 3 holes. Make it right, and go for a ride,

There is no flipping around the spacer, it has a raised lip that seats against the bearing..

My mistake then. I watched some video on a pan or knuckle that had one, so I though they all did. Which is also where I got the idea to flip. I also assumed since my 01 has the timken bearing, and uses tools from evos, it was similar , My mistake,
