Default Do you see any potential structural issue?

If I grind off this hump all the way up to the front seat tab, do you see it creating any issues with the integrity of the frame?
I don’t but I’m wrong more than right nowadays and the frame is something I do not want to F’up.

The bump is there to protect the wiring by supporting the center of the seat just a bit in conjunction with the frame rails. Also serves to lock the "Z" shaped seat tab in. If concerned with structural, cut it out, smash it flat and weld it back in.

Never seen or heard of a frame cracking due to that design.

No structural issues.. Does your seat have the side mount ears like the Fatboy?? If so there shouldn't be any issues..

I’m wanting to properly mount a faux pogo and the part that the shock screws into needs to be attached flush with the frame right where that hump on the backbone is.
If removing that hump will mean a frame mounted seat, should I choose to return to that won’t work, I’m going to have to figure out something else.

ETA: I thought about modifying the mount to conform to the backbone but I don’t think it has enough thickness to do that without significantly weakening it.

I already thought about that and spaced it up enough with washers and can barley flat foot it with my 33" inseam.
When I tried going with a weaker spring, it bottomed out as soon as I sat on it.
It's a V-Twin part and not very well thought out. The nose mount also needs to be modified in order to fit properly which seems to be the norm when using aftermarket ****, at least in my experience,

Agree.
I used to have a saying that “Brute force and ignorance can overcome any obstacle”,

You just succeeded in motivating me to get out my BFH!

If the BFH proves to troublesome ya might cut a slot in it then flatten it out.
Then maybe weld the slot and grind it down flat
