I've been using the rectangular axle sliders for a while now, just required a bit of fitting and they go in just fine. I noticed my swingarm was squished a bit where the axle goes through so I took the opportunity to square up the walls from the inside then weld up and smooth out the area that was deformed. I also made up a couple of rectangular plates of 5/16th to replace the washers on the axle

Oh ****, I didn't think of that! Really, quite a bit of time was spent building a mock up out of 1" PVC tubing while the wheel and swingarm were still mounted on the bike. I disconnected both shocks during the build so I could cycle the swingarm through it's full range of movement. Every fits with room to spare.

These bearings will hold the tranny inline with the swingarm. Upgrade the pivot shaft to 3/4 inch.

How do you get a 3/4 " pivot shaft to go through a 5/8th hole without removing and boring out the the trans mount?

The late model swingarm retrofit kit I used from Custom Cycle Engineering (CCE) is supplied with and uses the 5/8" axle, cost is high as Giraffe tootie now though, I thought I saw where V-twin had the same kit for about half price.

These were the recommended bearings I used, ptfe lined and sealed, they must be pretty good, still smooth and no slack close to 10 years

I used the V twin kit, cost dictated the choice. In the end all I used from it were the bearings and spacers, and all the seals. I combined that with the Glide Pro shaft and urethane mounts which I already had. Those bearings you listed look like the business. So, you made up your own bearing setup? Nice work.
