Omaha nailed it, Any FLH*** or FLT*** are variations on a touring frame. Many variations of the "glides" - Duo Glide, hydro glide, rubber glide starts getting confusing. There are also FXRT/P toruing models starting with shovelheads. Google the engine style and touring model to get a better feel for the evolution of the touring models.
For Me..Touring Models are ....Touring Models...Bass-ackwards triple tree and all!!!
But...Softail (ie Heritage) ...are an entirely different animal...close as one can get to the old 4-speed (Shovelhead) experience...
Just another opinion!!!
Edit; Leg room...and stretch to Ground...Pick any of the Bass-ackwards triple tree Models.. Plenty of Room, and Reach!!
Too Much for me... I have Sworn them Off

So an Electra glide or Road glide will both have more leg room than a road king or Heritage?
Do the larger clear windshields like panheads had or what they use with Heritages provide the same effect in comfort as the shark or batwing?
Zero interest in speakers or a Star Trek screen. The days of no helmet are long over in my area with texting, sexting, tweeting, and Prius drivers vaping while chugging wheatgrass smoothies on their way to their crystal healer. I love music but not while riding. And if I did I’d use the helmet.

Electra Glide, Road Glide and Road King are all the same frame if they are the same year model. Seats are configured somewhat differently but that can be changed very easily with another seat.
The Heritage is a softail frame and will be lighter and will better fit a smaller rider. Its a different platform with different attributes.
The Road King came out in '94. Before that the bagger with just a windshield was the flhs, Electra Glide Sport.
For the Road King they took the speedometer off the handlebars and onto the gas tank and added the black and chrome to the motor.
In my opinion, you want the later models after they relocated the battery to under the seat. The early rubber mounted 5 speeds (Shovel and Evo) had the battery hanging off the side taking up part of the right saddle bag. There are ways to relocate on your own, but for me I would look for a later model already setup like that from the MoCo.
I think the Road Glide fairing works better for taller people, the Bat Wing always feels really close to me face, especially when getting on and off of the bike. Just an opinion, good luck.
