OP are you sure that's not coming from the cam chest?? As for rocker lockers, on my 98 there was no way I could get them installed.. The rocker box bolts were a great fit.. What is your oil pressure going down the road, you have a gauge? Did you ever clean the oil screen??
I'd hold up on the roller rocker arms until after you add a 1/2 turn to the pushrods like JonhZ suggested. And keep in mind that roller rockers aren't required until about .580-.600 lift, and, roller rockers tend to be noiser than standard rockers too. So if you are tyring to get rid of a ticking noise, roller rockers aren't likely to help.

Oil pressure at 55mph is around 20psi, tappet screen is clean, i understand that the ev27 does make a little more noise due to ramp angle. Bike pulls great, no weird noises or knocks but has that random tinging noise. Going to drain oil and check for specs and switch back to conventional... valvoline vr1 high zinc 20w50

thanks for the heads up on the added noise. Im not to worried about ticking from normal operation .. its the non normal noises that ibworry about.
Update... bike is silent as a sewing machine on cold start... zero noise from anywhere if i start it and take off... once warm is where the irregular tapping noise comes in. Also... changed oil back to conventional 20w50 with high zinc.
before i loose my mind... rod knock is gonna be mostly low rpm and constant? Or can it come and go...
checked run out on crank and it only has .003 thou of run out and zero end play per my dial indicator.
