The cam position sensor on my 98 FLHRCI has started to melt. I need a good replacement. THX

If bike is carbed, then before you remove the old sensor, mark the V in the old sensor to the side of the nose cone cover, and reinstall the new sensor V slot back to the same V slot markings, with bolts in the slots. If you don't mark the V (scribe it into the metal) before you pull the old sensor, then will have to play the timing light game on the other side of motor game with timing plug pulled, as you you get sprayed with oil as the motor is running.

If bike is fuel injected (MM), then isntead of using the slotted channels for the sensor to mount it to get the V to line back up, use the round holes to mount the unit in the fixed position, with the wire loom downward. The ecm will take care of the timing, since the MM fuel injected bikes use a different rotor than the carbed bikes.

As for connector to de-pin and re-pin with new sensor, its down in front of the rear brake pedal switch, but get to it from the bottom of the bike, under the frame. Just take a photo of the wiring per pin, so you re-pin it back correctly. Also, re-route the wires loom the same as the old one, since it close to the exhaust system, and want it the same as the old wire loom came out to keep it as far as you can from the exhaust pipe.
