I don't think you have a problem though I never actually "measured" one.

Grab the shell anyway you can and wiggle like you would a car wheel to see if the tie rod end was loose. That hub/shell bearing is a ball bearing so it's gonna have some, so .070 or less and your good

I did try to wiggle it back and forth and movement was barely perceptible. So that sounds good and I watched some youtube and it seems somewhat common, but I think I will still pull the hub off and just make sure and make sure its all clean, it was full of brass particles from the grenade ring/spring plate.

If it isn't already together, do me and maybe you a favor...
Hold the shell in one spot with slight inward pressure against it and see if it pushes your hand out as you turn the hub. If not, pull on it and try try the same.

I did do that and it still moved I was maybe lessened it a bit but I have pulled every thing off and checked the bearing. It looked and felt fine. I spun the hub and shell on the bench all seemed true. I put the hub and shell back on without chain and the wobble was there when I spun the hub but when I spun the shell it spun true ???. Oh I did check the trans shaft for play and checked run-out and it barely wiggled the indicator. So I guess it's good to go with a new clutch pack. I can't figure why it would do it on the shaft and not on the bench. Any ideas or checks are welcome.

Thanks for doing all that and I agree you're good to go. those hub bearings are very tough and it's rare they fail.

I'd never checked one like you did with an indicator, just a wiggle and if the total in/out was less that the thickness of a steel called it good.

The only thing I can think it could be is factory tolerances, the bearing bore on the shell must not be absolutely concentric to the rest of the shell.

Or bearing not pressed in tram to shell channel, or just slight peen'g of bearing in hub channel to cause it to be slightly off tram with bearing center race running on inner hub..

As for what you have now in run out of outer basket to inner hub, pretty much common for even brand new as well.
