I am in need of a new inner primary for a 1996 FLHT. The part number for brushed is 60661-94a but it is obsolete and doesn't seem to be made by the aftermarket and shockingly there are no used ones on eBay. I am seeing some eBay listings for a 60423-94 which is off a Road King and says that it's used up until 2006 or so. A Road King one should fit my bike, I would think, but I don't want to buy blindly.
Can anyone confirm if 60432-94 and 60661-94 are the same other than the color?
Exactly what I have on an FXR project...and if I had a FXR inner...you would be welcome to it..
the FXR inners dont have the boss provision for the shifter used on FLs- but if you can figure out a different shifter mechanism (and i think i have seen it with a mid control setup on an FL) it would work.

Right you are... and the FLHT inner has No Provision for Mids..
But, FXR primaries were unobtainium back when I built this last '94 FXRP. From Scratch.. A semi-local cat was parting out a totaled 1996 FLHT, so I bought his Tranny/Primary & starting stuff...Wholesale..All went into my FXRP project... I need to address Mid Controls yet!! Prolly Remove the shifter boss then!!

One thing to note on whatever primary you chose, the bolt pattern to the tranny changed on TCs around 2001/2002 so you probably don't want to pick anything from 2001-up. Early TCs might fit..

Made that mistake when I got a good deal on a "01" inner primary for my Dyna. One of the three transmission mounting bolts was relocated by about a 1/2 inch. Now it's collecting dust...
I'm 99.9 percent certain that the only difference between the 94 suffix inner primaries is the flht one is unpainted and the Road King one is painted black.

Assuming the number he's giving you is the actual part number and not the casting number..

Yes, same inner. The numbers as posted are black wrinkle / silver, respectively
