I rebuilt an 83 FLHT shovel a couple years back and re-plumbed the oil lines but I setup the oil lines before I set up the primary and starter - has anyone eve re-run the return oil lines on an EVO FXR or FLHS and completed this without pulling the starter? I just bought a 1989 FLHS and the oil lines are original.

On the FXR's I pull the Starter because it is relatively easy, and is about the only way to get access to the FXR oil bag !tank!
I thought I remember the oil tank being in a Different location/orientation on the old Shovel FLHT.. (the only year of a Shovel FLHT BTW)
But...been some time, and My Memory is Not Improving.
yeah - the bag tank s on the right side - but the frame has a cross brace under the spot where the FXR oil bag tank mounts so I still cant get to the top of the trans mount - I'll pull the oil tank and see if there is a way to get to the oil lines from the side - but if you could not get to them in the FXR I would bet I cant get them with the FLHS or FLHT
