No, that's what mine look like too, and it runs fine. That assembly moves a bit as the cylinders heat and expand away from each other.

The flanges are marked, F and R as I recall. Good luck!

I'll bet the fuel is turned on. If you had the carb upside down after reassembly (before ya mounted it) wack bowl with a screwdriver handle. a few times

Needle may have got stuck closed .
Have had it happen more than once

Never mind. I’m an idiot. I forgot to hook the vacuum line up when I put the carb back on.

I sat down and thought it through and it hit me to pull the air cleaner to check for fuel. Sure enough there was no fuel from the accelerator pump when I hit the throttle. Put the vacuum line back on and she fired right up.
I’m gonna call it a night for now but later this week I’m gonna do some tweaking to the air fuel mix.
I took a ride and could smell gasoline when I gave it full throttle.

Dump the vacuum operated petcock and put a manual operated petcock on it.

Don’t worry about it or eat yourself up. “All” of us even if we don’t admit it have to take apart and put back together stuff we just did from time to time. To get things right it takes patience. Look at it this way.. adopt the attitude that sometimes the things we do go so well, that we just need to do them again.

I got home from mom and dads only to immediately come down with Covid for the first time.. feel like crap. Decided to install some custom rear turn signals and a new tail light on a Dyna that’s here… dropped the rear wheel pulled out the butchered harness and got to work cleaning and Soldering everything with nice shrink.. got it all super neat back in the bike, laid all the new stuff out, got it all working.. sodared and shrink wrapped all the new parts, hooked up the battery… it all worked beautifully.

So I neatly installed everything with lock tight, tucked everything nice n neat, re-installed the back wheel, set the belt tension. Lowered it still on the rack and hooked up the battery again… nothing. All three new lights I installed dead dead dead. I tested everything twice..

i don’t feel good enough to drop the wheel again, nope.. I’m gonna goof out on Tylenol and alka seltzer and drool infront of the TV and save the joy of re-doing my own work another day.

We all have to re-do stuff from time to time… if we’re honest.

Previous owner left it like this \/ It was literally masking tape at each turn signal connection.. one of those L/R Brake Lite all in one tail light before.

Previous owner Nightmare wiring…. Taped up with masking tape aftermarket turn signals

Looks nice now… but don’t work lol.
Looks nice now, new louvered tail light, new L/R turn signals that match the front… everything soldered and nicely shrink wrapped… but don’t work lol.

For what it's worth, when ever I need to work on my bike I always need a couple of these . . .

Im glad you posted this because I have to do it all again after all.
I took a look at it and I see the bottom of the carb is not fully seated in the carb seal boot.
I didn’t have the manifold lined up with the heads and when I tightened the carb support bracket it pulled the bottom out ever so slightly.
Which I assume, is why I was smelling gas when I rode it the other day.
Anyhoo, I bought an angle locater which should be here today. As long as I feel ok I might try to fix it.
I’ve been sick since last Sunday and thought I had Covid too. Turns out I had pneumonia. Doc gave me 2 kinds of antibiotics which I started Wednesday. I started feeling better yesterday, but now all my other chores are way behind. Hoping to get some time to wrench on the bike while the weather is so gorgeous.

Wow. My mouth is literally watering seeing that. IDK about a couple of them, but one sure would work for me.

Just love how a carb thread turns into a wiring harness post.
