Default Still like EVO compared to new motor

I still like the way my 1998 EVO runs compared to the newer motors. I know I might get biased opinions in this section, but do any of you agree? Seems to be able to pull better down low, my 2006 DOES NOT like to be below 2000 RPM at all.

I agree, that's why I cannot sell my 90'fxstc.

I bought a 2008 NT, and traded my 90'fxstc at the dealer, must admit I had a fair price for it.

After a week off sleepness nights I went back to the dealer, told him my 'baby' stay's home.

When I compare the sound of my 90'fxtstc with mum's 2006'streetbob (SE slip-ons), it's an easy choice.

Evo rules in my opinion, Harley Davidson died a littlewith the introduction of the twincam-series [&o]

Having owned 1 ea. Knuck, Pan, Shovel and Evo, I can't be more pleased with the Evo.Not HD, S&S cases, HD crank, HD jugs, STD heads, Crane cam, lifters and ChMoly Pushrods. Have enjoyed it both on the road and little drag racing. The simplicity makes it fun to work on(I love to fuch with stuff) and the power and sound are great. Wouldn't trade it for anything!

Yeah....
EFI is nice when you look at Feull eficiency and pollution specs...
but its too complicated...
Got a EVO fatty myself... a friend has a TC Fatty...
Well, ok, it s nice, but doesn't have that Low RPM "tadum tadum" for starters.....
It doesn't have that "feel" to the engine etc etc etc...

Sometimes I just wonder what would have happened if the MoCo din't have to whorry bout fuel prices or pollution...

i like to dream of a Moco-made, fully evolved, 96cui, top notch EVO!
complete with headwork... correct flanges, seals etc etc.....

...sigh....[&o]

Agreed, the twinkies just don't have the torque, and I HATE the heat they give off.

Ive got to say I'm not all that impressed with EFI other then when it comes tocold weather starting (below 40 deg.). My 05 Springer Classic Stage 1will run 41-43mpg while myChopped 87 with worked over CV carb,10.5:1 pistons, cam, and some head work gets 46-48 mpg and the 93 FX Springer I had would pull close to 60mpg. with just high flow intake and pipes. Ive had no problems with the twin cam yet but you just cant beat that EVO

I have an 07 CVO springer and a 98 FI RKC and I like the newengine and tranny. Maybe it's the 110ci that makes the difference. My RK has stage 2 kit. Can't seem to get the idle and starting right with the FI. Took it to sturgis from NJ this year with zero problems though!

I love the twin cams, they make my EVO 10 times cooler. I just hope I can always get parts so I can keep it forever.
