Default The rebuild...

Progress at this point is slow, but coming along. I'm not cutting the frame..( although it will be drilled here n there to allow cleaner wiring )..or making any major changes...just freshing her up a bit. P&M PowerTrain has the motor and trans. The motor is getting 10.5:1 piston's, a crane 292 cam, new oversized valves and a street port/polish job with new guides, springs etc.. new pushrods..( adjustable )..and their elect ignition. Similar to the crane hi4 but their own setup.

Using S&S rocker boxes, to get away from the 3 piece setup on the evo's.

The trans was totally gone thru and had new seals/bearings etc...

The frame, swingarm, and alot of other parts are being powdercoated black..( satin )...I copped a spoked rim for the rear, opting not to run the solid rim. Spoke's just look right...on any bike. The rims, oil tank, inner/outer primary, bars, headlight bucket, pegs mounts, forward peg mounts..( keeping the mid control's on the bike so I can move around )..lower legs, trees...all satin black.New grip's and peg's that are black with brass accent rings, a brass timing cover, as well as brass risers and brass gas tank caps.

Suicide Cycles is handling making the risers/caps/and headlight mount..( brass )..as well as dishing the tank, and helping me setup the internal throttle housing I plan to use. New P&M control's will mount up on the bars. Will probably have them rewire the bike as well...running much of the wiring through the frame where we can to clean the bike up as much as possible.

Paint will be handled by Cliff and Skip here in PA...those guys are exceptional. Were thinking rootbeer, with tan or beige for the dish and some gold leaf as well.

I've got the tank back from coop @ suicide...waiting to get the frame powdered and then taking that stuff to paint.

I'll post a couple pics of the work.

Heres the bike as I got it some month's ago...

Here are some shot's of this work to this point...

Tank Fab work done by Coop @ Suicide Cycles in Manchester MD. http://www.suicidecycles.net

Coop has done all the fab work infact, 1 off brass gas caps, 1 off brass headlight mount, 1 off brasspoints cover, tag mount and frame. All on manual machines...nothing computer controlled.

Grips n pegs...

Tag frame...tough to see. The dam flash washed out the pic..

Brass gas caps n headlight mount...

Tail light by CrimeScene Choppers...

Primered Tank...Paint work by Cliff and Skips paintshop in Irishtown PA...

Velocity stack by Hank Young...picture here>> http://www.youngchoppers.com/parts_eyr_ah.shtml

Tag mount welded to swingarm...

Paint work should be done, and back to Coop for assembly within 2 week's.

More pics to come...

These are with the 1st coat of paint applied. They have since been cleared and look outstanding. Artwork began on the tank today, and should be done by the end of next week I would assume. I wanted to get some pics of the progression of it, decided to wait until it's complete.

The color is HOK Candy Rootbeer Pearl...it's new.

Nice progress. That's an awesome job on that tank. Wow.

Fluorescent lights tend to make everything green. Is this closer to the color? If not, I'll be happy to take these pics down. Just let me know.

It's only the 1st coat in these pics...since clearcoating it really brought out the richness of the color. imo the color in the pics is very close to actual. Your monitor may produce a different result.

It look's like a chocolate bar...somewhere between milk and dark. I'm very happy with the color, I just hope the artwork isnt overkill.
