SHOTGUN FATBOY
Hi folks,i have a 99 fatboy that i bought this fall and i did'nt have much time to ride since the winter arrived early this year in my part of the country. The problem is,it does loud backfires from the exhaust on the rear cylinder when cold,i mean 45-50 degres ambiant temperature and 70% humidity.
Ifix cars for a living but this is my first harley so i have things to learn.

Are you sure this is cold related? My 2005 FB backfired all the time after taking off the stock pipes and remaped with a Stage 1 and screamin air filter. As soon as I put on a Power Commander 3 (2 years later) the backfiring was gone. Like the other posters said, do some searching, but also take an inventory of the mods on your bike and post them when inquiring.
the bike is completely stock and carbureted.however,i forgot to mention that it did not ran for a long time so i plan to start it this spring and ride it around the block for an hour an see if it improves, actually,i did that this fall and it ran better after a hot soak.
thanks for the replies.
