I am in the process of putting the bike back together, and adding a little bling here anad there[8D]
I have a top Oil pump cover, and need to add the side cover as well,
The problem I have is that this part is only recommended to fit '87 to '98 evo's. Is there any difference from '86 to '87? The top cover was for '86 to '98 however not so for the side cover. Any input would sure be appreciated.
Far as I know, the oil pump is the same. However, the clutch mechanism is totally different between 86 and 87. 86 has the "old style" lever and arm. 87 has the "new style" where the cable comes into the transmission directly. They would use a different side cover in your pic as there is no provision in the cover shown for the clutch arm.
Thanks for the reply. You are correct, my clutch is activated by a lever on top of the transmission. This cover seems to "look" like it will fit, hopefully my dealer has one in stock, or if I am really lucky, they will let me order one in to see if it will fit.
