I had to connect the cable and power on the ignition before starting the Curvemaker program. Otherwise the ignition was not found by the PC.

When you program the ignition the switches will no longer function. Make sure you set all of the parameters you need including single/dual fire, rev limit, and timing curve. If it screws up the performance, go to the diagnostics tab and click the button that reads "Use Switches" to set it back to normal.

goodluck
Hi bud, I hope you can help.
I got a 93" shovel with dyna 2000i. I'm programming the "break points" section now in curvemaker, how many degrees of timing advance is good to add and at what rpm's should I add it? Whats the max amount of timing degrees to add?
Should I add the same amount for WOT and part throttle?
Thanks.

Most people pick one of the curves that come with the Curvemaker software. There are 4 traditional curves available if you click "Load Curve" on the timing tab. Curve 1 is the most aggressive and has 35 degrees of advance.

It may be faster to use the dip switches first to choose a curve and then load the same curve number using the software.

If you want your own cable for $40 plus shipping go here: https://sites.google.com/site/vrusb2000i/

I can do it for you but you'll have to buy a programming cable from me. That's $40 plus shipping. See the link that I posted above for details and my email.

Try a new thread for your question or send one of them a pm. It actually started in 2008, they all may not be watching. Good luck, twisted, mine kicks ok for stock ignition....

The shovehead guys more often have kickers and a lot of them use the Dyna2000i for its simplicity and ability to kick start. A guy we call Chopprs sells a lot of them with good results. I would post on a shovel forum for first hand testimony.

I kickstart my evo with a Dyna2000i.
