Default Wheel Modifications

I may have posted this previously, but still need some assistance. Thanks in advance for your help.

Need to update my stock, poked wheels on my 86 FLH. Have an opportunity to purchase a set of used, stock wheels off a 93 Heritage. From the picture shown in the ad, the wheel hub is different from the 86 wheels.

Is there a cross reference or other means of verification to determine what wheels are compatible or maybe what additional parts are required from one application to another?

Thanks again for your help!

Ken,

Someone's listening! Although I don't think I can be much help.

Looking through my 1990 factory parts list the front wire spoked wheel has a1987 part number, the rear has a 1986 number. The 10-spoke cast wheelsboth have1987 numbers. The earlier style 16 spoke wheels have 1984 numbers.

So it would appear there is a change of some sort to the front wheel the year after your bike was built. You need an expert like your local Harley dealer!

They are different The front hub on the 93 probably only has a single flange ( one brake rotor) Your flt has two The rear on your FLT has a 12 in brake rotor and the mounting holes are totally different than the flange on the 93 FLST style If the price is right get em for the next project

It can be done. I put 93 fatboy wheels on a 79 shovelhead. It would be better to find some touring wheels instead of the heritage wheels. Spacing, maybe a disc rotor for the rear. I am running 07 streetglide wheels on my 90 electra and 06 -6 spokeon my 99 roadglide.

later.........
