Would like to verify the location of the crank vent hose. I believe it connects to the top of the transmission cover. Is this correct? I am looking to install the oil vent from Hayden Enterprises

No the trans vents thru its own hose your crankcase vent should go to your air cleaner (back side) At least it came from the factory as such

 

Do yourself a favor and get a factory service manual.
