Gents,
i just might have the wife talked into riding. Plan on renting an Electra Glide in a few weekends and taking her for a ride. I own a '98 Heritage set for solo now that I love and plan on looking for an evo bagger if she's convinced she likes riding. Question is does an evo have enought *** to haul me at 230 lbs, the wife at 160 lbs and full gear? I know an evo isn't going to be as nice as the twin cam I rent but what differences should I see? An evo is going to be much more affordable than a twin cam and I don't want to spend too much money and have the queen decide she doesn't want to ride anymore.
hi just put the rear seat and sissy bar back on my wife prefered my heritage to both baggers i had later (all1340 evos) just purchaced another evo heritage after my vn 1500 and my wife loves it its something to do with the vibes!!lol but saying that we dont have the wide open spaces here in the uk as you do all the best hope your wife loves it alan(zee)
I would strongly reccomend getting a 97 or 98 Evo Bagger - the amount of aftermarket support and H-D parts support is stronger for those years than for theoldermodels. I love my 89 and have it customized an all, but all of that is more fabrication and design work , vs. "bolt-on mods".

Agreed, my wife didn't like the bagger over my Softail Custom, so I sold it and bought another Softail.
I agree with 89FLHT, if you decide on a bagger, look at models 97 or newer. I have a 96 bagger and some HD parts bolt on and some don't. But I still love the bike. I just have to do some customization to get the parts to work.
