Default Heritage question

I have a 96 Heritage nostalgia, on the front fender is a light it looks like somebody cut the wires.
How do they run the wires for the light. I see a hole in the fender on the left side. does it go out that hole and follow the brake line? And where does it go from there?

Also there is actually a small round plug by the gooseneck that the wire from the front running light plugs into.
