I am installing a 96 RK dash console on my 89 FLT (see painthelp final chapter for pic).
What I need to do is hopefully scratch heads with you to come up with something to fill the hole in the dash where the original RK ignition switch was.
The hole is 2 inches in diameter and not that deep. Maybe an inch or so.
I have spent countless hours scouring all the catalogs but am not having much luck.
Anybody have any good ideas?
Why dont you put RK ignition switch there?
Its cheap and look good.
I don't want to go through the hassle of rewiring the ignition switch because it works just fine where it is on the neck.
I am thinking about a clock (just to fill the hole) I don't need to know what time it is when I am in the wind.
I am so restricted by what I can put in the hole but maybe I can find something at the Keene,NH swap meet on the 10th.
Keep those suggestions coming though.
I am so confused, oh wait a minute, maybe I"m not.
they are about a 1/16th smaller in dia than the filler cap. You can get them in different styles. One I had was a white version of the black one in that link. Laughs I like the plastic jesus sugestion or maybe a saint christopher Failing any of those what about the oil tank bung from a soft tail or sportser with the dipstick cut off ?
