This is my 96 Fatboy, I've been to Sturgis andDaytona numerous times and have yet to see this color on another Harley. Was this a rare color for the year?
I do not remember seeing that paint scheme ...the tank emblem is hard to see but it doesn't look familiar for the '96 model year so maybe you have custom paint and emblem, just a guess. Or maybe some sort of limited edition...they did that on ocasion such as a blue scheme on "liberty"edition for some '86 touring models that had a statue of liberty emblem on the tank.
This is how it came from the factory. It states on the title that it is a model/body RS. thanks for the reply, usually you will see atleast 1 copy of your bike????
Just my .02, my buddy bought a 98 fatboy new and it had a logo similiar to that except his was more circular. Local dealer stated it was destined for Canada. So since you are up north the same may be true. Kent
Huh? Did they make special bikes for different countries? I like the fact that I dont see a "clone" of it but also would like to know a little more about it because I get asked alot about it. thanks for your input
Best bet is to call Harley Davidson customer service. They should have all of the info. If the bike was originally destined for export, there is probably a 5 in the VIN. Like, 1HD5, instead of 1HD1.
Thanks MR1986. I see there is more out there. It appears to be a factory option. This site rocks! thank you for searching that. I was starting to believe that the bike had a different paint job other than factory.
