I saw the EV38 listed on the Andrews site. You can also look in the drag specialties catalog, jp cycles cat, and you can go to bigboyzheadporting.com and look at their cam camparator section and find it. I first saw this cam listed in jpcycles and started to look deeper into it. I am surprised you didn't find it on the andrews site. I'll try and find it then post the link.

Got to this link, it should give info on the 38.

Let me know if you find it.

Seems strange that I never heard of this cam before. As you say, it appears to be very similar to the EV27 with more lift and duration on the exhaust side. That certainly seems to work for the EV13 in my engine, which runs extremely cool oil temps. I hope you hear from someone who has tried it, as I would also be interested in hearing how they like it.

MP,

What oil temps are you running? With the 27 I hit 200-205 after being on the interstate for about 25 miles+ running 70/80 mph @ 90+ degrees. Around town same outside temp around 190-195. I run synthetic oil too.

I spoke with a tech at andrews, he said anyone who is happy with the 27 will like the 38. I may just try the 38 just to see what it does. I'll give a review after I had a little time with it.

For what it's worth, since oil temp gauges seem to vary, mine only hits 200 on 90+ days, usually runs 190 or so after a long run. It never, ever feels anywhere near excessively hot, even on 100+ days. Of course, I never just let it sit and idle in traffic, but since I got the EV13 I never even think about engine heat. Evos are known for running MUCH cooler than Twin Cams anyway, but with the stock cam mine would get hot enough you could feel some heat on your legs when stopped at a light or something. The heat on the legs is negligible at all times now.
