Default fxrp?

The vin checks as a 1984 fxrp. So does the title. I looked on that fxr site and saw that the 84 fxrp has a belt drive. Mine has an enclosed chain like the fxrt. Any thoughts?

tried to upload pics. Followed directions but nothing. You'll have to picture it in your head. Sorry.

They switched to BELT DRIVE in 1984 1/2, so you have an earlier one.

My 84 FLT has that enclosed chain system. Works good, lasts a long time, chain rarely needs adjustement, Lube it once and forget it. It was a great system until some dude perfected the belt. Tire changes take a little longer.

Bummer about the pics, I really love seeing those early Evo's.

Thanks. Now that all the police gear is gone I guess it's an fxr. Any other differences to other fxr's ie: engine or trans?
