Any ideas what a 1979 Ironhead 1000 would be worth in good condition. \\; I saw one on the side of the road for sale and was trying to see what a fair price would be. \\;

A friend of mine is a freak of nature with regards to mechanicing and his ability to retain knowledge. \\; Based on his opinion he advised that 1979 sportsters had a predisposition \\;for popping out of either 1st or second, gear I forget which one. I found that to be true when I couple years ago I went with an acquiantence to check out a 1979 sportster and it did pop out of gear. \\; So heads up on that.
