Default Stroker cranks?

Any info about putting a stroker crank in stock case and using the stock jugs. What kind of displacement is going to be there? Any concerns of clearances with stock jugs and SE pistons -piston hitting the crank or heads?
Thanks in advance.
Greg

Well, I logged in and wrote ya a whole bunch of information regarding strokers but the forum threw it all away and told me I wasn't logged in. I just ain't gonna write all that again. You need to talk to a good machine shop and/or call/email some of the manufacturers and ask them about what will work best for you. That means you have to kinda know what amount of performance increase you will require.

You might consider big bore as well. I like big bore along with increased stroke.

The amount of displacement depends upon the amount of bore and stroke so there isn't any answer to your question until you know those dimensions.

There is a limit on stroke because your pistons will be shorter, the longer you go.Also will have to bore motor because you will need new pistons.Good Luck

I have an Ultima 89 inch stroker kit in my 95 flht. With a crane cam and ignition, S&S Super G, a little head work and pipes I am putting 80 horses on the ground with 80 ftlbs of torque. This is at 5000 feet above sea level. While you have it that far down you might as well machine the cases and go big bore also. The guy I got it from bought an 07 Ultra and it cannot keep up with me.

I had a JIMS 89 inch stroker kit in my 1990 bike, which was great, built by a local Harley specialist.

Early Evos have suspect crankcases, so a larger bore is not wise, there is very little metal around the standard bore or the driveside main bearing. Later Evos, from around 1992, have better cases and can take a big-bore kit as well. Sputhe do a 104inch kit and there are other 106 inch kits, that match an 89 inch long-stroke crank (Axtell I think).

The only confident way of getting a bigger Evo is with after-market crankcases which will be really strong, but still limit you to around 106inches. Having studied all these options for months I eventually bought an S&S 107 inch engine, to replace my 89 inch!

Look into complete motors on Ebay for example,124" Evo's in the 5k to 7k range as compared to piece mealing up to the performance level you want.
