Default engine change

Was'nt sure if this is the right forum.Buuuuut would an Evo engine bolt into an 82 FXR frame?

Maybe yes maybe no. The Early 80's FXR frames had a great difference in backbone height from frame to frame. Seeing as this was a Shovelhead the outlook is grime at best. Hope this helps

It might fit if you put the whole motor in at once and didn't try to pull the rocker boxes off in the frame. Especially the back one. I'm just guessing here. I know that evos have been put in shovel frames, and if I recall, the main problem was the back vertical tube that used to hold the spring for the seat. That FXR is a rubber mount, right? You might get the ruler out and do some serious measuring.

Really, the only way to find out for sure is to try it.

Don't think so. An Evo is taller than a shovel, it would take some stretching of the frame to make it fit. JMHO, YMMV, etc.

Thumbs up it will fit

The FXR frame with the shovel is the same frame as the one with the EVO. I done swaps each way with no issues.
