Thanks! I love my bike! Ride it often and not afraid to take road trips with it. I have only seen 2 other 95th Anniversary Wide Glides in person in my travels. One other here on the forum and a few for sale on ebay. Most bikes you see on the road today are twin cams. Agree with the tons of character!

Go to the HD dealer and ask about their engine exchange program, for about $2500 and two weeks(ganurteed) you get a new engine from HD with the original serial numbers and a new warranty.

You bring it in and pick it up two weeks later.

You know, I think some people believe the only reason we don't own a new Harley is we can't afford one. Few people realize that most of the evo owners, especially on these forums ride their older evo because that is what we like. I am always looking for ways to make the old bagger better, but not so much interested in buying a new one. If I hung out at the dealer and listened to the group that hangs out there I might feel differently but we tend to ride alone, and really don't care to worry about pleasing any of the crowd at the dealer. I will say if Ultima ever releases a well priced evo powered bagger kit, especially if it includes the complete paint set , I would be tempted to buy and assemble one.

How much of your own work can you do?
How much do you want to do?
And how much are you willing to let other's do?

Owning an EVO is like owning any older vehicle (see my sig pic): Ya either got to learn how to work on 'em yourself. Or find someone who's been around long enough to work on 'em for ya. And with labor cost at the levels they are, it'll all add up quick.

I've owned my 93 FLHS since new (4/93). When I picked the bike up in 93, the service manager told me to do all the maintenance 'stuff' myself. And for the most part, I have, save a few on the road oil changes, etc. I have had the top end done and re-done. And the base gasket leak fixed using The Oil Fix.

I've had good work, and bad work done on it. However: None of the work I've done to it has been in the bad category.

Using a quart of oil between changes seems excessive to me, so you've either got a valve issue, ring issue, or a combination of the two (if it's not dripping out on the floor). You are probably due for a top end rebuild.

Wink

Keep it everybody has the new dynas ,they s**t their pants when I eat them up. They think the 96 is strong untill my sleeper fxr 127 smokes them. New bikes are soooo common. Older bikes that are clean draw more of a crowd. mt 0.02
