Ziplock bags and a big plastic storage container with a snap on lid will make the job much less messy, instead of taking up space on your bench, you can put all the removed parts into the storage bin, then get it out of the way.
Gear oil is stinky stuff...
You will need a tool to lock the primary, so you can remove the compensator nut and the clutch nut. Some folks make them, some use a screwdriver handle, some use a 3/8 inch drive extension (right t150veg?) I confess, I also used an extension for locking the primary
I bought a locking bar from Georges Garage online, it was easier than making one.
You also need the mainbearing race removal/installation tool that t150veg mentioned.
Before you remove the shift lever from the shifter shaft on the tranny, mark it and the shaft with a marker, so you reinstall it in the same position on the shaft, I goofed on this once, did not notice my mistake until I had the primary all buttoned up and was installing the external shift rod to the foot shifter .
You will have to remove the nut that holds the front pulley onto the main drive gear, it is a deep 1-7/8 socket, you will need to make one or buy one, I got mine from Jim`s many years ago, very expensive if you buy from Jim`s Georges garage is much easier on the wallet.
If your front pulley has never been changed, you may find that the nut is already loose, the old design pulley nut has a poor anti- rotation feature, and is known for coming loose.
If you have the old design front pulley /nut, I suggest you replace it with the new design pulley, nut and spacer.
You will end up spending a couple hundred dollars for tools to do this job, but it will still be less than it would cost to pay a shop to do the job.
