This is so true. Other than a few miles every year from commuting, most of my miles are on two-lane, mountain twisty roads. I've ridden 300 miles in a day in the mountains and they wore me out more than the SaddleSore 1000 that I did in '06 on the superslab ever did.

8 to 10K per year average on my '96 FLHTC. Miles varies depending on work and weather. I do my own work on the scoot when possible.

55,000 miles since I got back into riding 3 1/2 years ago... but 15,500 of those miles have been since April 1st of this year. I change the fluids myself, but pretty much everything else gets done at the local indy shop (Charm City Choppers) or dealership (Baltimore), depending on the issue.

A buddy of mine in our HOG Chapter took delivery of a brand new FLHX last June. Here it is only ~15-16 months later and he's racked-up >43,000 miles on it! AND he (we) live in New England where we're ***-deep in snow and freezing temps during the winter!

Sounds like everyone gets out as much as life and/or pain will let them. Right on everyone. Be safe.

Bought my Electra in early 05.....my Wide glide last year. This year I will have on about 18K. I had three years in a row with an average of 30k each year!
Wish all years could be like those years, but money, life and job got in the way!
I am also a little more selective on the days that I ride. I am a little more fair-weathered than I used to be. "Quality not quantity" is my mantra!

I average about 10,000 a year, don't get to take as many trips as I'd like to though. My Wide Glide was bone stock when I got it, and I've pretty much turned every nut and bolt on the bike since then. Not that it breaks a lot, I just can't leave anything alone.

Years ago Too much as far as the wife was concerned.Today every chance I get, having other interests makes riding not such a priorty.
The last 2 bikes were ground up built big inch Road Kings, that will never be sold.
Have been building, modifying, and working on my bikes for over 47 yrs.Knowing them inside out makes for an unreal connection to them.Gives them a personality.

You guys who live where its 90 for temps 12 months out of the year make me cry. I ride everyday after work at least for 1 or 2 hours. So I guess thats puts me at about 4 to 5k a year without counting road trips. I have to add that riding twistys is slower and takes longer than buzzing down the pike at 70 or 80.
Having said that, is there really any correlation between miles put on and hours in the saddle?........ I didn't think so. And what is it suppose to prove? I, know , you're just curious.
