Sorry, I was trying to get my signature to show up correctly, and kept editing the post a few times. It may have come up wrong a few times.
Was just going to say that the long shots look a lot nicer in my opinion. But I understand about getting something custom fab'd for the rear mount. It is really a shame that that don't have a wider selection for your Dad's bike.
Yea I'm sure something will come up eventually. V&H is suckin on the reply dept! I sent another email today, but I gotta wait till Monday, so we'll see if someone responds to this one.
Then again, (not defending them by any means!) most places are closed until Jan 4th. Please post if you hear something back from them. It will be interesting to hear if they respond to the little guy. It may sway my next purchase.
About six months ago I went thru the same thing with my 91 FXRP. I really like Vance & Hines but they don't have much for the old FXRs. They just don't have a big enough market to justify a large variety fo styles. I settled for the short shots because the old stock pipes were shot. Now that they've been on for awhile I really like them and don't feel like I had to settle. They look and sound good. Besides, my FXR is a retired Calif Highway Patrol bike, so a completely different look and sound worked for me.
