What Wheels?
I want to run tubless tires, and so i am getting new wheels, but don't know which ones to go with...
I'm leaning towards the "fat daddy" spoke wheels. the place i'm looking to get them from seals them with silicone so they run tubless... anyway, they seem to look good on a heritage.
i have always loved the fatboy wheels all chrome, and they look GREAT on a fatboy, but for some reason, they don't look as good on heritage IMO...
i'm looking to stay around $700 for the set, any sugestions?
i threw in a pic of my bike now, the fat daddy wheels on a deluxe, and a heritage i found with the solid chrome wheels....

Thought about HD black highlighted spoked mags?? They run true, are tubeless and are easy to clean!! I hate cleaning spokes and replaced both wheels on my FXLR. Came factory with a solid 16" Fatboy style rear and 21" spoked front. Refinished a set of factory 16"/19" factory 9 spokers and never looked back. Might look pretty nice on you bike with the black paint, my bike is black as well and they really tie the engine highlighting together.

i looked at some 9 spoke wheels.... could get a good deal on the front, but never could find a sweet deal on the back.... after many many searches, i finally went with the DNA Mamoth spoke wheels... got the set new off ebay for 699 and 50 to ship.... plus 100 buck sfor new brake rotors.... 50 more bucks for rear axel covers....
when harley installed them, they had to cut down all my sprocket bolts because they were too long, and fabricate some front wheels spacers, which added up to extra labor... but all in all, it was THAT bad.... with added labor, and 2 new tires, i got out of there for $839.... grand total was a little more than i wanted to spend ($1,700), but i like the way they look... definately married to this bike now!!!

yeah, it wasn't that bad of a deal, i am just a cheap skate!! buy allmost all my chrome from ebay/craigslist... do all the work myself... this and my cam are the only things i've paid someone to do... like i said, i'm cheap!!
too soon to say on the issues... i rode home from the dealer... about 130 freeway miles... so far so good. i also had them fill the tire with nitrogen, they talked me into it. it is supposed to not leak as much, and not expand and contract with heat and air as much, to maintain proper tire inflation better.... we'll see about that also...

Jahillsr,
well.... the first issue has arised, the rear wheel leaks air at one of the "sealed" spokes.... the name brand is "DNA" wheels and i bought them from an ebay store called "Outlaw....something" anyway...
i call them and tell them it leaks... they say they will pay to ship it back, re-seal it for free...
i say, who is going to pay to have it taken off the bike, and re-mounted...
they say me! they won't pay labor....
i say i shouldn't have to pay twice! they sent me broke crap and should pay the additional labor charges accured to me for THEIR mistake....
that is argument went down yesterday and today.... we will see how it gets resolved tomorrow... and i'll either tell you they are a great company with excellent customer service, or they are dirt bags who sell broke junk and don't care about customers. for what it is worth, outlaw told me they sell sealed spoke wheels all the time from DNA (they also have 40, 60, and 80 spoke wheels sealed) and i am only the 2nd person to have a problem.....

i finally talked to Paul there today, FINALLY!!!! he was the one i have been waiting to talk to... and after 2 minutes he says he has to run it by his boss!?!?!?!?!?!?! i thought HE was the decision maker!!! he says he will call me back in 2 hours, give him just 2 hours to talk to his boss.... after this has gone on for THREE DAYS, what's another 2 hours????
5 hours later he goes home... end of story.. never calls me back, his boss never calls me, nada!!! 1.5 hours BEFORE he leaves, i call over and over and over, asking to speak to him, OR Alex (his boss).... every time, they both are either out, in a meeting, or on another call...... i waiting on hold for 30 minutes and neither one of them came to the phone....
Tomorrow is the 4th day, and i still have no RMA return label to send the old wheel back, or ANY compensation for all my trouble... i took off work next week for a spring break trip, of course now i can't go... and they won't even call me back....
they said i'm only the 2nd person who has had a defective wheel... i don't know, but i do know they are not in any hurry to make it right....
