head bearings

Default head bearings

well not that i got the new wheel on i did a test drive and i think i have to adjust the head bearings or replace them..1984 FLHTC...are thier any hoto's on doing this?

Just did the ones on my '87, they were suprisingly rusty!!! You have to disasemble the tripple trees and the races are a bugger since they line the goose neck with a tube the same thickness as the wide part of the race.... you cant drive them out with a punch from the backside... I had to weld two beads with a wirefeed on opposite sides and was able to pull them out. The bearing was a standard trailer axle bearing at the part store but get the GOOD ones, they are still cheap.
