CV carb hiccup
Good morning group...I recently purchased a '90 FLHTC with 37K on the clock, in excellent condition. Lately, I have had an occasional "hiccup" I am assuming from the CV carb, mainly occurring around 3100-3200 RPM, at cruising speed. Sometimes, I can ride all day with no symptoms, and like yesterday, I will get 2-3 hics, level out for 5-10 miles then more hics. This is my first CV carb, and I'm not sure where the problem lies. Any suggestions out there?

Sounds like a lean condition, possible vacuum leak. Check the compliance fitting on the manifold where it meets the head and the carb. Then replace the vacuum line going to the VOES and petcock. Next on the side of the carb you will see a small rod that has a rubber boot on it. It is the accelerator pump rod, sometimes these stick and cause a problem like you are describing (oops just gave away another secret!!!). The rod will stick part way down and the next time you use the throttle you wont get a full shot, causing the "hiccup". Just put a little dry lubricant like "Dry-Slide" on it and make sure it's free.
