I really don't know - but I would guess that it would. I think the E-Glide and Road King frames are identical... but I don't have a RK to compare to.

I am spoiled rotten by my Tour Pak! I would never tour without it. But I like having it removable if I just want to tool around town and want a sleeker look... I can take it off in about one minute, and put it back on just as quickly!

I got a really good deal on my Tour Pak from a dealer who had a brand new 2006 Ultra one (new style, with the rear light bar) listed on eBay. I only paid $450 for it including shipping (retails for $899!). It was a special edition in the SE scarlet and charcoal gray. I almost had Bertha repainted to match it - but in the end I just repainted it black to match her - and put the chrome light covers, chrome light bar rail, chrome luggage rack, and Dragonfly Concepts speaker pods and Kenwood 6 1/2" two-way speakers on it. All that extra stuff cost more than the Tour Pak itself did.

It was a lot less expensive to repaint one Tour Pak than it would have been to repaint all of Bertha's existing black tins - but that scarlet with charcoal gray on the sides was sure pretty in the sunlight! I still wonder if I did the right thing - but I think Bertha just needs to be black and chrome!

Default Q? ABOUT adding detachable mount

I have bitched in other threads about the MoCo saying that P/N 53276-04 (the detachable two-up tour pak rack) fits only 1997 and up bikes - which is NOT true! It will fit your bike just like it fit Bertha - my 1995 FLHTP.

Like John said he has done, I fitted the detachable tour pak rack to Bertha using the standard detachable mounting hardware kit that you will also need (Docking Point Kit, H-D Part Number 53804-06). I just shimmed out each of the four bolts (two on each side) that attach the TP rack to the docking points using a SS washer on each. This moved each docking point out about 1/8", so that they lined up with the detachable rack. It was really quite simple to do. I still can't believe the MoCo doesn't include the washers in the docking point kit, so it would fit older bikes.

Click Here to see the detachable TP rack on the H-D P&A site. The picture they show is the newer rack for '09 and up - but the second part number is the one you would need: 53276-04.

I bought my TP rack at the local dealer a couple of years ago, but I found the Docking Point Kit on eBay. You would probably be able to find both on eBay, etc. as well. I looked on eBay just now and found the TP rack, but it was listed for $179.95 - the same price as the dealer. But with free shipping you'd at least not have to pay sales tax.

I've attached a pic of the detachable TP rack and docking point kit installed on Bertha.
Im trying to add the same set to my 1995 electra glide ultra classic . Previous owner removed original trunk mount and added sissy bar back with rack. Game me the trunk with a 97-08 quick connect mounted on it with no docking hardware. Bought the hardware that was missing. Anyways was told needed the frame fender support crossbar, that's missing. It goes across back fender and bolts in with the rest of hardware. It's supposed to help with the sway somehow. Idk... NONE of the threads mention this bar. Alil insight would help.. please. ....

Question Anyone have to drill the tourpack?

The tour pack mount I got has the holes spaced at 10 inches apart my factory mount has the holes at 7 inches apart.

I would rather not drill into my tour pack. Did I get the right one or do I have to drill?

I have a 1996 Ultra Classic. Thanks

ya I drilled mine use fender washers, it's fine. Makes it nice cause you have a little more adjustment if you like it back more.

I having some trouble with this install. Does anyone have any pics of what the mounting hardware looks like installed without the saddle bags installed?

I have a 1996 Ultra classic EG

This is the pic that came with the hardware:

This is the bike with the factory tour pack hardware installed:

This is where it looks like the instructions says to put it but the pack will be way too low. Also, I think the saddle bag support has nothing to bolt to here except that one bolt that goes through the fender. Doesn't seem strong enough. Especially with stuff in the bags.

This is where I think it should go for proper height.

Either way I feel that I'm losing fender support without the stock hardware

Additionally, I cant even mount the hardware labeled #1 for backrest because I dont have the place to put it.

Fender washers to space for shock bolt
Goes on the top of bag rail
Full install, trunk sits a little lower but plenty of clearance

Hi.

I appreciate this is an old topic and people might have moved on, but I found - and have - a pair of 'frame ends' that include the missing bolt holes for the saddlebag supports. They fill the gap in the photos above.

They have the same 'crushed tube' as the original racks do, but are just about 5" long with chrome caps. Two holes to bolt onto the frame, and two holes to bolt on the saddlebag supports. They fit under the chrome frame cover.

No idea what the part numbers are but they would give you that proper fender support.

If I can, I might be able to upload a photos of them. I would not have the saddlebags hanging on the fenders alone.
