Do you have a HD manual? IF not, I'll look thru mine and see if I can help. I haven't had the issue, myself.

Turn the ignition to on.......then off......then on.....then off......then on

The engine light will flash quickly.......for its own system check.

Then it will throw out the codes......for example, (beep, pause, beep) means 11. If I remember correctly, 11 means there are no codes set. Search around on the internet and you'll be able to know what the codes represent.

Ahhh just curious but what year of EVO did trouble codes start to be available, I always thought it was only with the twinkies?

I think that they started when EFI got put in touring bikes, my 96 has them. I believe the very first EFI bikes were in 95.

I would start with checking any wiring on the bike first. Make sure everything is tight and secured. If the wiring seems ok....

It is possible the engine temperature sensor went bad setting other codes off. Definately start with this sensor.

Reading this thread makes me appreciate the fact that Bertha has just a simple CV carb, and no electronics other than the ignition module... my simple mind can deal with that!

Hope you find your answer...

It sure is! But my problem is that I have to be more and more selective about learning new things, because I don't have that many unused brain cells left to store them. I wish I could forget a lot of the useless CRAP that is just sitting around in there, taking up valuable storage space!
