Default hand control switches

My 1990 flh has the original switches on the handlebars. Only problem I have is the lettering is worn off. Now I know what all the switches do, but does anybody know of a way to put the lettering back on, either stickers or stencils. I can't justify spending $150 or so on new switches just for the lettering. thanks for your help.

$150 just for switches!!???? what the??? why not go on ebay and search for some switches that ppl take off when switching to chrome housings??
Not sure if the new switches fit the old housings, but if they do, u might look into these

thanks for the reply. I was told pre-96 switches are one piece units i.e. wiring/switch together. After 96 or so had the replaceable caps. Now I am not sure the shape is even the same as the ebay piece. Mine are not rounded like those. I suppose I may be able to just change them out to newer style like suggested when people change theirs to chrome. All that just to see the lettering. Should be an easier way! If my old eyes and shaky hands were up to it I'd paint them myself! thanks for the help

just thought of another solution if u don't want to buy the switches. U could take them to a local engraver and have them engrave the lettering there... should be cheap, and then u just have to "bulk"paint the engraved part and remove excess paint. Some paint should be left inside the engraving showing the lettering AND it will last longer

Smile might work

I have a dremel tool and am willing to give it a try. After riding season!

I think faded might be better than Dremel engraving. Thing could get ugly quick. Good luck with whatever you decide.

One idea for paint would be the stuff they make for gun sights, translucent. Easier to see in low light conditions.
