Default Turn Signal Help

I have a 91 FXSTS that I'm having trouble getting the turn signals to oerate properly. I bought the bike without turnsignals so I put stock dual filament lamps in the front and single filament lamps in the rear. When I operate either the left or the right the lamp lights up but doesn't flash. I checked all the connections and the bulbs and everything seems to be fine. Is there a flasher that I can replace? Any help would be appreciated. fyi the hazards operate fine so I'm stumped.....

Thanks
Brandon

The hazards have a separate flasher. Sounds like your bike isn't wired up right or is missing the flasher unit. Start with a factory shop manual, which you absolutely need anyway.

The way it's wired if you make it simple, is 1 power wire to the running light circuit & the other live goes to the flasher circuit. The light pots are all grounded to frame.
Where did you access your power from in the harness?

Default turn signals

I also recently added turn signals to my '99, and came across a similar issue. I purchased the newer style HD bullets and had new style lamps in them (non LED), I ended up thinking that there was a power ratio issue and figured i would get a load balancer since i wanted to do run/turn/brake in the rear. That seemed to be the trick and has been fine since. I was looking at replacing the flasher module (which is directly under the tank on the backbone of the frame), but tried this instead since the parts were in stock and not near as expensive.
