Default 1989 fxstc wheel offset?

hi, just picked up a 1989 fxstc. Having an issue with belt rubbing on tire. In fact, the rear wheel is set to the left. How do I know if I have the correct spacers. Rotor and caliper line up and wheel is straight in swingarm. Tracks straight but would like to move wheel to right and eliminate rub. It wore off the word avon. Was thinking of putting spacers behind the pulley but I will still have the wheel offset to the left. Really obvious when you are looking from the rear fender. anybody got any suggestions?
