I have been seeing a lot if newer wheels on eBay what I need to know is can I just change the bearings to the 3/4 ones from the bigger ones or is there more to it I would like the olds School look of wire wheels

You can change to 3/4 bearings, but you will also need to change the spacer between the bearings. Also, the newer wheels are narrower, so you will need longer axle spacers. The also have bigger holes where the sprocket and brake rotor fit over the flange, so they will need bored out or new (2K and up) parts used.
