In the service manual it says the turn signal flasher are located on the dash panel between the fuel tanks But on my 86 fxst the flasher is under the seat by the left upper frame tube,in frount of the oil bag.hope this helps.
on my 85 flh the flasher was rectangular in shape. i don't know if your's is that shape. when i had to replace it i just used a 552 automotive flasher from an auto parts store. about $3.
