Graham! I guess I got really lucky that my wife rides her own bike... no shock issues that way.
My 16-year-old daughter rides on the back of Bertha sometimes, but the skinny little thing only weighs like 84 pounds, so I don't really even notice her back there. Biggest problem is her falling asleep and banging her lid on the back of mine... Quite startling at 75 MPH! Good thing Bertha has those extended armrests, to keep her from falling off.

Dale, we had a falling asleep thread on HDF some time ago, got quite amusing. Probably over in Touring. My wife does it too, sometimes on quite short trips. You know you've made it as a rider when they do that!
