It is my philosophy to only use Genuine H.D. electrical components (stator, rotor, regulator). I prefer to only replace stators once, not annually.

I agree with Dr Hess. Who makes it? To me doing the stator is a major PITA. I only want to do it once. The ad says NO RETURNS. I would pass. This is the point I was trying to make on the other stator tread. The OP is in Australia. I don't know how hard it is for him to get parts. So just stay with OE parts and at least you know you have some kind of quality.

I would love to go with OEM But I don't have that much cash laying around. You can't take back any HD part either.

I wouldn't be afraid of it, but that's just me. I don't know anyone that allows you to return electrical parts.

Ok when it comes to replacing parts on my Harley I look at it like this a Harley is a Harley and there known for there engines sound design ect. But when it comes to replacing parts like starters , charging systems clutches etc I try to lean toward specialist that manufaturer only these types of parts, most times a well known company and the time they put into improving these parts. Hopefully that made scence.

you can see the seller has a lot of sales and 100% feedback. plus if you paypal your covered. ebay is in favor of the buyer. ive been dealing with ebay for over 12 years. paypal doesnt release the funds to the seller until you leave feedback, or 20 days, so that gives you time to install it and see how it works. if i need one thats where id buy it. now if your worried about it and have money to throw around then buy from the dealer.

Lynn, your philosophy is valid. Personally, I look at it like this: There are a lot of aftermarket parts out there. Some are good and a lot are pure junk. I know that the OEM part is at least "good," as good as what came on the bike or the closest thing available today. I don't buy enough parts to know what aftermarket stuff is "good." I don't have to buy a lot of parts, because I have an Evo. If I was a shop that experimented with other people's bikes over a 10 year period and I knew what was good, better than OEM or junk, then I would do that, but I'm just a guy with an Evo buying the occasional part, so I get OEM when I can and don't worry about it. Especially with electrical stuff, because I do know personally that the cheap stuff is junk, or was 25 years ago (pre-Evo) when I was going through it like water. If it costs 1.5x more to buy HD, then I'm saving a lot of money because otherwise you have to buy 3 of the "cheap" parts to last as long as the HD part, plus you're always wrenching on the bike. And look at the people dissin' HD's. They buy a bike with aftermarket crap on it, it breaks down, they put more aftermarket crap on it, it keeps breaking down and they biatch that HD's break down all the time. Especially electrical systems.

Anyway, that's just how I look at it. Save your pennies and buy a good part. I have a feeling that a "good" aftermarket electrical part will probably be as much or more than the HD part anyway.

I would say go for it, 100 positive feedback on 2500 sales, sounds like a good quality product, and lets not forget guys, the oem harley electrical stuff isnt setting the world on fire, or we wouldnt see post after post about charging system issues. just my two cents. chad.
