Default Confused

While installing new throttle and Idle cables, the I noticed the Cables were to short and the cassing was to long. On the cable's I pulled out, the cassings were cut short on the Carburator end. (95 RK) Searched for something that said S and S but only found inscripted on the side of the carb HARLEY DAVIDSON. Is this an upgrade, or possibly from a different model bike? My brother thinks it's camed because it's got alot more pep than his 94 Heritage. I cut the new ones like the old ones and it worked fine, but it would be nice to purchase a cable I didn't have to modify. Thankyou for your input. I value your opinions very much.

If it fits now that you have cut them, Measure your coat length & order a pair of cables closest to that number, Not by bike model. Pic's would help!!

that is the carb that came with the bike from the factory. It is a cv-40 harley carb.
I think that your handle bars were swapped out & different cables were ordered. Than the bars came back off later on but the cables stayed with the bike.

Thanx Hatch. This is an excellent possobility. I just bought the bike in Oct. I'm thinking about taking the vin to the steeler to see if I can get a history on the mechanics of it.
