My plan is to make a good street bike which is reliable and won’t need stripping again in the near future, don't want to go more than 9.5 to 1 due to available fuel, bike has only done 360miles so bores pistons..............are new.
My question is what other parts would be recommended to install? For example tappets/lifters are standard any good?
I have stripped the top end, I have acquired the following parts.
New Screamin Eagle Heads at a cost of (680.00 gbp inc VAT good price?).
New Andrews EV46 cam (78.00 GBP inc VAT another good price).
Having gear striped off old cam and fitted to new
New torrington cam bearing.
Borrowing cam bearing puller and installation tool.
S & S stainless steel breather.
Andrews adjustable pushrods (56.00 GBP inc vat).
Crane HI4E ignition module.
I will replace cylinder base gasket and head gaskets with Cometic gaskets.
I already have/fitted.
Mikuni HSR 42 Carb complete kit with inlet manifold and bits.
Screamin Eagle torque fit mufflers.
True Track kit.
Braided Brake Lines & EBC Pads.
Progressive fork springs, fully synthetic thicker fork oil.
Now this is old info, but I remember lots of guys bolting out of the box Screamin' Eagle heads on their bikes years ago and being disappointed. If I was going all out like you I would bring those heads to some one with a reputation for properly flowing heads and let him do his business. Could make all the difference in the world.
To complete your package you should install a TRUE-TRACK to control the power and flex you have increase on your bike. Dyna's were designed with one stabilizer, they need three to control the drivetrain.
