Took bike (1986 flst upgraded to C spec)for first run yesterday after top end rebuild to fix rear base gasket oil leak, I also fitted an EV27 cam.
Wow, wow, wow, what a difference. I never thought a cam would make such a noticeable change, no wind up, twist that trottle and she goes, unbelieveable pick up, cool.
No strange noises from cam or cone area, so I presume the gear on cam mated ok with gears in bike.
Also, obviously did all oils and used Bel Ray Transmission in tranny and primary oil in primary. Its like a new gearbox. Could always find first with a little blib of trottle and release clutch a smidge, but now, clicks straight in, no first gear clunks and changes smooooth. Far better than MoCo's Formula + that I have been using.
But the cam, wow. Cruise a 60 want to past something gooooooooooooooo.
Would reccomend change to anyone. Finding it hard to keep speed down to bed in rings and piston hone.
Thanks to all here who suggested it to me, you were right.
Bike needs a good clean and tidy-up and I will then post a couple of photos.
