Take a 3-4' piece of 2"X2" and put it against the muffler mount on the rear of the muffler, then with a combination of chemicals heat and a strap wrench on the front of the muffler near where the muffler body is welded to the part that narrows down to the pipe (the muffler is stronger there and you have less chance of crushing it) tapp and turn until it comes off.
You could also take a quality hole saw that just fits inside the rear of the muffler along with a drill extension and drill ou the bafffle. That will give you a very nice sound and only costs about $25 and a little bit of your time. Hope this helps.

Question I Don't Know If I'm Reading You RIGHT

Hey Dr.Hess

I don't know if I'm reading you right about: Take about a 1" rod with a bit of a pointy end. Punch it all the way through both mufflers

Some other guy said something like that but only with a PUNCH. And that CONFUSED me more

I sprayed the joint last night with penertating oil and I hit it again this morning. And that's all I did so far.

I like the idea of the RUBBER STRAP WENCH as to not damaging the muffler. Other than that I'M LOST

So Dr. where do I place that pointy rod and go all the way throught; that means to me; to DAMAGE the muffler YES/NO ?

Dr. please explain further to this ol' man

I'm with these guys on cycle shack mufflers or something...other than what you have on there.I'm definately NOT for the idea of punching holes in those mufflers.....never heard one sound that great afterwards. Take a sawsall or something and cut those old mufflers off right up next to the flange where the head pipe and muffler join. All new style mufflers do not use the old "flange" type joint.Like I mentioned earlier, there are tons of mufflers on ebay, craigslist, etc.Older ScreaminEagle ones, I've always heard, have a great sound but aren't too noisey.Leave those on till you find some ,that way you can still ride while you're waiting for new(er) ones.

Hey Schooner,
I was making a suggestion on improving the sound of the stock muffler, not taking it off. With the stock dresser muffler, you can make a hole all the way through it and it sounds pretty good, but your post came after mine, so that's not how you get your muffler off.
I dunno why it is stuck. I never had that problem. I wonder if a DPO didn't "fix" that exhaust leak point for you somehow, like with JB Weld or something. I'd try the strap wrench, etc., as suggested, or just take the next bit of pipe upstream off with it and maybe you can see what the problem is.

Guess I should restate my facts. They are not stock Muffs but just too quiet and I cant get the screws out that hold in the baffles. U can hear a little bit of Like I dont know, the inside is loose on the muffler? here a pic, best i have. Until I can buy new ones would it be ok to drill out the screws holdin in the baffles and remove them?

Do what the Dr. suggested, and punch (or hole saw) them out. If you don't like the sound, cut them off as the others have suggested. There are too many muffler choices out there with the slip-on (later) style. Dab some copper anti-seize around pipe before you mount it.

I run SuperTrapp slipons with 18 disks (24 possible). You can tune them for sound and performance. When they rot out, I'll be hanging a Thunderheader on.

On a side note: The best sounding exhaust I have ever installed was a Hooker Header setup on my old Triumph Bonneville 650.
